Newsletter no.1 FOR PLAYERS AND PARENTS
I sincerely trust you enjoyed
the Summer break and the World Cup, even if it wasn’t the result we all wished
for! The new season for us begins on Sunday 4th September 06, although
no fixtures have yet to be published, we definitely remain in Division 3.
However, there are 2 major changes that we must adjust to. The first is that
matches will be 10 minutes longer making them 40 mins each half. The second is
that we will now use size 5 footballs. Both of these changes will mean the
games will be more demanding but also resemble a more balanced game toward
adult football. This really will be an exciting season as we have built so many
bridges over the past 12 months. I hope your enthusiasm is the same as mine and
Richards!
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING
NOTES CAREFULLY AS THERE IS IMPORTANT INFORMATION.
TRAINING: We commence on SAT 29 JULY 9.30am at MANOR
ROAD PLAYING FIELDS for the first 2 Saturdays and then revert to Frys from Sat
12 Aug for the rest of the season. Sessions times remain 9.30am to 11.30am each
Saturday. It is important you ALWAYS bring trainers as well as boots just in
case of inclement weather. We will endeavour to keep training on unless the
weather is too severe. Drinks are also important, especially in the warmer
weather. You should always drink before training and matches where possible to
avoid dehydration. PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE NO TRAINING ON SAT 26 AUG.
REGISTRATION: You will find enclosed an Avon Youth League
Registration form and a Fry Club Juniors Membership form. I need both forms
completed and returned to me NO LATER THAN SAT
12th AUG TOGETHER WITH 3
PASSPORT PHOTOS. This is necessary to ensure the boys are registered in
time for the start of the season. Receiving these forms after the 12th
Aug will delay their individual registration so I would appreciate your
cooperation. Birth Certs are NOT required!
HOLIDAYS: Please
make a note on the bottom of the Frys Membership form any known absences
covering either the Summer Holidays or football season. This will allow us to
coordinate training and friendlies.
SUBSCRIPTIONS: I
am pleased to advise that our fees remain at £55 for this season. They must be
paid in full by November and I have to ask for at least half by September
please. This will allow me to process your membership card giving you continued
access to Fry Club and, of course, the all important chocolate shop!
KIT: I trust your red shirts and black shorts
and socks are in good order for this season. Let me know if you have a problem.
You will note on the Fry Club Juniors Membership Form I have put a request in
the top right corner for your shirt number. Please insert this so I have a
record of who has which number. Could I ask you to check your drawers and
cupboards and return to me pre season the blue away shirts and yellow and black
away shirts. We will be getting new away shirts, details to follow! Also, I am
missing a couple of the previous red shirts with ‘FCA’ as the sponsor. If you
have any of our old kit please return it as well.
